Are you in a hurry to get your message out? If you want to get through your talk as quickily as possible then your words could be rushing out of your mouth, like a fast food restaurant gets the burgers and fries out as quickly as possible.

This is perfect for a fast food restaurant, but not ideal for speaking to an audience.
If your goal is to connect with your audience, then it's important to make sure each word, phrase and sentence is delivered, as if they were on a platter and you are serving them to your audience, like Silver Service waiters do, serving one piece of food at a time. I know - I had a job as one when I was young.
Why am I sharing this metaphor?
Because your subconscious mind loves metaphor! It's not a conscious, intellectual concept you need to work out - if you imagine you are delivering your talk in a Silver Service way then your subconscious can do the hard work for you. This, along with other things, has been helping one of my client's massively, and this is some of the feedback she received ~
